CaixaBank — how to download a bank statement in Norma 43, PDF and Excel format

Why the statement is needed

For the automatic upload of bank transactions into the accounting system, it is advisable to obtain the statement in Norma 43 / C43 format. This format helps avoid manual data entry and reduces the risk of errors.

A regular PDF statement is useful for reviewing account movements, while Excel / CSV is useful for manually checking and filtering transactions.

1. How to download the statement in Norma 43 / C43 format

Step 1 — Log in to CaixaBank Now

Log in to CaixaBank Now from a web browser on your computer.

In the top menu, select:

Ficheros

Then, in the left-hand menu, select:

Descargar ficheros

After that, click the button:

Hacer una nueva petición

Step 2 — Select account movements

On the Nueva petición de descarga screen, select the tab:

Movimientos de cuentas

Then select the format:

En formato estándar C43

This is the Norma 43 / Cuaderno 43 banking format, which is used to upload transactions into accounting software.

Also select the option:

Con referencias SEPA y conceptos adicionales

This option is preferable because the file will include more information about the transactions: bank references, additional descriptions and payment details.

After selecting it, click:

Continuar

Step 3 — Configure the request settings

On the next screen, you need to configure the download settings.

In the Periodicidad section, select:

Periódica

Then, in the ¿Cada cuánto quieres recibir movimientos? section, select Cada mes, so that the statement is generated monthly.

Next, select the bank account for which you want to obtain the movements.

After that, continue with the request and confirm it in the CaixaBank system.

Step 4 — Download the file

After confirming the request, CaixaBank will prepare the file for download.

The Norma 43 / C43 file may be downloaded in one of the following formats:

.txt
.n43
.q43

or another similar banking format.

This is normal. You do not need to open, modify or edit this file before sending it to the accounting department.

2. How to download a regular PDF or Excel statement

If you need a regular statement for review or manual checking, you can download it from the account movements section.

Go to:

Cuentas → Movimientos

Then click:

Descargar
or
Exportar

Select the required format:

PDF — to review the statement.
Excel / XLS / CSV — to check, filter and manually process transactions.
Norma 43 / C43 — for automatic upload into the accounting system, if this format is available.

Important

If the C43 file opens as a set of characters or long lines, this is normal. Do not edit it or save it again. Send us the file in its original format.
