BBVA — how to download bank statements in Norma 43, PDF and Excel formats

Why is the bank statement needed?

For the automatic import of bank transactions into the accounting system, we prefer to receive the statement in Norma 43 format. This format helps avoid manual data entry and reduces the risk of errors.

A standard PDF statement is suitable for reviewing account movements, while Excel is useful for manual checks and filtering operations.

  1. How to download a statement in Norma 43 format

Step 1 — Log in to BBVA

After logging into online banking, you will be taken to the main page.

Step 2 — Open the required account

Go to: Cuentas

Select the required bank account

 

Step 3 — Open the account movements

Go to: buscar movimientos

 

 

Then, select the required period and click: buscar movimientos

Step 4 — Click Descargar

Click the button: Descargar movimientos

 

Step 5 — Select the Cuaderno 43 format

In the format selection window:
— select: CUADERNO 43
— then click: Descargar

 

Step 6 — The statement is ready

The file will be downloaded to your computer.

Important

The Norma 43 file is usually downloaded in the following formats:
— .txt
— .n43
— .q43

Do not open or edit the file before sending it to the accounting department.

  1. How to download a regular PDF or Excel statement

All steps are the same as when downloading the Norma 43 file.

The following formats are available in the selection window:
— PDF
— EXCEL
— CSV
— CUADERNO 43

Common errors

Cuaderno 43 is not displayed

Usually, this format is only available in the full web version of the bank on a computer.


The file was downloaded as TXT

This is normal — this is how a Norma 43 file usually looks.


The file opens with strange symbols

Do not edit the file. Simply send it to us.
